Children can either bring their own packed lunch to school or eat a school lunch. School dinners are freshly prepared and cooked each day in our kitchen by Mrs Christine Smith and her team.
School lunches cost £2.20 per day. Meals are served on a cafeteria basis. Children choose their meals and pay each day at the till.
When children eat better, they do better. Nutritious, balanced meals are not only important for children’s healthy development; they also boost their energy and concentration during the school day.
In school we have to meet high national nutritional standards for the children’s lunches. Our menus are carefully planned so that we offer a variety of healthy and balanced meals that appeal to the children.
For the Autumn term 2020, hot meals are not being provided. School lunch boxes may be purchased for £2.20. ParentPay should be used for payments for school lunches.
Special diets can be provided for medical or religious reasons. If your child requires a special diet please complete the Special Diet Registration Form.
Your child may be entitled to free school meals, if you receive one of the following benefits:
If you are eligible your child could have a free healthy meal every day.
We are keen to encourage families who are eligible for Free School Meals to apply. Even if you do not wish your child to have a free school meal, you should still apply, as the school receives an extra extra funding per pupil each year. This money is used to subsidise or pay for school visits, music lessons, clubs and residential trips. Details of how this money is spent are available
If you think your child may be entitled to a free school meal, please complete an application form. These are available from the school or from www.norfolk.gov.uk/schoolmeals
